BLOG: Start with Being

It seemed so simple. I only had a call to make.

A simple call! You pick up the phone, dial, and speak. It should be no big deal.

And yet, my heart was racing, my breathing was short and shallow, and I felt queasy. Apparently, my body had not gotten the memo re simplicity. The pending call was identified as a threat, and my nerves were on overdrive.

As I paced and procrastinated, it came to me:

Who do you want to be?

With that simple question, I got back in the driver's seat, and my world did a 180.

I certainly did NOT want to be the weakened, nervous, off-balanced creature that was dished up automatically in response to the perceived threat.

I wanted to be courageous. I wanted to look the beast in the eye, and to act in the face of fear.

I wanted to be the professional who jujitsus the nerves and uses them to enhance her performance.

Quite simply, I wanted to be the strong, confident person I know myself to be.

In that moment, I claimed it. It grounded me and allowed me to act from a more enlightened and inspired place.

And so the question I have for you as you plan your year is this: Who do you want to be?

Run with this question, and see where it takes you. If you find yourself needing more guidance, hit reply to this email and let me know. We can either jump on the phone for a call, or I can send you a step-by-step process that will allow you to work it through on your own.

In either case, start the New Year here and witness the difference it makes!
